My description and what I am looking for

I'm a single and I look forward to the day that I have to identify myself first & foremost as somebody's mother, but that will be a while yet. Sometimes I'm not sure how I manage to find time for anything that doesn't have to do with kids, but somehow I do. Some of my interests include photography, bird watching,genealogy, embroidery, bead work, scrap booking and various other creative activities. I also like reading; people entering my house have been known to mistake it for a library, or at least a used bookshop! My tastes in books range from fantasy and sci-fi to poetry, history, and occasionally mysteries. I was heavily involved with the SCA once upon a time, but haven't indulged in recent years. The only pro sport I have any interest in is baseball; I root for the Mariners and against the Yankees and the Astros.

What I do for fun: I love to do all kinds of outdoor activities. Sports is a HUGE part of my life. I enjoy exercising, movies, concerts, traveling, family and friends. I am a Christian and I definitely try to make God number one in my life.

Favorite music: Almost anything except not a big fan of rap, hip-hop, or country (though there are some exceptions there, too) but I especially enjoy rock from the 60s & 70s (the stuff I grew up listening to); folk music, especially Celtic or Celtic-influenced folk; and a very eclectic mix of other styles. Particular artists, in no particular order, include Tim Buckley, Donovan, the Doors, Led Zeppelin, Tom Lehrer, Frank Sinatra, Al Stewart, the Moody Blues, Arlo Guthrie, the Battlefield Band, Steeleye Span, Silly Wizard, and many, many others. I also sometimes enjoy listening to classical music (Mozart, anyone?) but usually I prefer something I can sing along with.
Favorite movies: Movies I like .... Avatar was beautiful! A Singleman. I just watched the ten Oscar nominated films of 2010. Some were a BIG disappointment. I didn't understand why some of them won and others didn't. My favorite movies of all time are Ryans Daughter and the Secret of Roan Inish. Both are set in Ireland and of course I LOVE Ireland .... remember?? And also they are visually beautiful.
Favorite TV shows: The Star Wars movies; Blue Velvet; Moonstruck; Sleepless in Seattle; You've Got Mail; Howl's Moving Castle; Fierce Creatures/TV: Twin Peaks; NYPD Blue; Crossing Jordan; House; Da Vinci's Inquest; Countdown with Keith Olbermann; and the evening news (usually on KOMO)
Favorite things: Enjoying watching the kids grow up. Working slowly on getting my bachelor's degree (so I can go to work slowly getting my Master's degree in Library/Information Science). Trying to figure out if I can make money with my hobbies. Indulging my interest in photography and scrapbooking. On sunny days you will frequently find me walking down by the river taking pictures; on rainy days more often I will be sitting inside, reading or fiddling with bits of paper and listening to music or watching tv.
